Maker Summer School Showcase

MIT D-Lab works with people around the world to develop collaborative approaches and practical solutions to global poverty challenges. D-Lab’s Humanitarian Innovation Initiative focuses on refuge-led innovation, training displaced people in the design process so that they can design and make tools, products, technologies, and systems to solve problems they encounter in their daily lives.
In Athens, D-Lab has partnered with Faros and The Cube Athens to run a#MakerSummerSchool for refugee youth.
The youth are spending 6 days learning the design process by making real products that they can use in their daily life. They are learning hands-on practical skills such as woodworking, electronics, and metal casting.
They will form teams that will work together to identify a common problem and then design and build a product that solves that problem.
They will be proud to present their first prototypes at the conclusion of the workshop.
We look forward to having you with us to the product showcase on August 9th at 4:30 at The Cube to encourage the participants and see what they have made.
Light refreshments will be served.
